Volunteer Opportunities for FSU Students and
Community Artists

Do you want to use your talents in a hospital setting?   The TMH AIM program can provide an excellent community service opportunity for you.  See Application Directions Below

PURPOSE

The Arts In Medicine Program (AIM) is an interdisciplinary group of volunteers composed of artists, musicians, performers, physicians, therapists, clinical practitioners, medical staff, and educators.

Its purpose is to promote the health and well-being of TMH patients and families through the myriad relationships between the arts and human responses. It is a partnership between the Florida State University and the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare facility and is designed to bring together the rich resources of the FSU arts and clinical programs with the Tallahassee arts community for benefiting TMH patients and their families.

The Arts In Medicine program components include volunteers providing direct patient interactions with the arts, scheduled performances in multiple locations throughout the facility, improvement of environmental aesthetics, and special projects designed to facilitate use of medical services or improve comfort levels of patients.

PROGRAMS

Performance Series
Dance and music performances are scheduled in the Atrium, in the cafeteria, and periodic musical performances in the Adult Rehabilitation Center, waiting rooms and public areas. Volunteers are being sought through the FSU College of Music and Dance Department, local high school music programs, FAMU music and dance programs, and music and dance groups in the Tallahassee community.

"AIM Higher"
Main Hospital patients participate in weekly AIM projects including: arts and crafts, puppet shows, sing-along, story time, instrumental performances, skits, and much more.
"Bookmarks"
